In addition, the website allows users to view Destination Asia hotel fast fact sheets which provide exclusive and essential information about the full range of hotels featured on the website. These fact sheets can be printed or saved in .pdf format for future reference.

In addition the tactical website allows; additional search criteria; a stop sales overview and hotel renovation updates that can be exported in Excel. Users are permitted to make enquiries, securing the very best deals on rooms across Asia. One of the greatest advantages for users is the sites ability to function as a ‘live’ sales point, continually updating as more room offers become available – therefore providing the most competitive hotel offers in the market.

Burma eVisa Update

unnamed (1)

Burma’s eVisa system has now been extended to cover Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay International Airports alongside Yangon International Airport. Visitors may use their eVisa to enter Myanmar through Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay International Airports even if they have chosen Yangon International Airport as their port of entry.

Destination Asia can assist with visa on arrival (VOA) for clients who are not eligible for e-visa. However the process is not quick and we can’t guarantee the visa will be approved. The process involves checking with the Ministry of Tourism if an application can be made – then waiting 2 weeks for a decision. The Union of Myanmar Travel Association does not accept any VOA applications from tour agents for clients eligible for e-visa.

Another 26 countries have now been added to the growing list eligible to apply for an eVisa to Burma. While the eVisa initially allowed travelers from 41 countries to apply, the program is now open for citizens of 67 countries.

Saigon’s Pedestrian Plans For 2015

unnamed (4)

It may be hard to believe given the current state of the area, but Nguyen Hue Street’s future is paved with granite sidewalks, 3D art and electric trams. The two-phase $USD23.5 million project will turn the area in front of the People’s Committee Building to Ton Duc Thang Street into a 890 meter promenade that will host 3D art events and dancing water fountains.

Authorities want to keep on schedule in order for the square’s opening to coincide with the installation of the new Ho Chi Minh monument which will replace the current one in front of the office of the People’s Committee. The first phase, due for completion by March 2015 is to include a pedestrianized section 124 meters long and 63 meters wide of Nguyen Hue Street (from Le Thanh Ton to Le Loi Street).

Some hotels allocated along this street will be affected by the closure, including Duxton Hotel, Palace Hotel, Royal Hotel Saigon (or Kim Do hotel), Oscar Hotel and Rex Hotel.
