Machaba Camp Joins the KAI Collection
Step back in time to the safari days of the 1950’s with KAI’s newest property, Machaba Camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Since opening it’s tent flaps in 2012, this spacious and subtle classic safari camp has been showered with accolades including the World Travel Awards ‘Botswana’s Leading Tented Safari Camp’ in 2013.
Machaba is nestled in the northeastern Okavango Delta adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve. The 8 suites and 2 family suites all feature large living areas, verandahs overlooking the delta, en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. Children of all ages are welcome but a private vehicle is required for guests under the age of 6. Explorations of the surrounding wilderness by 4×4, on foot, or by mokoro (dugout canoe) yield incredible wildlife sightings and observations. In Spring 2016 Machaba will be joined by sister camp, Gomoti Plains Camp which will be of similar style to Machaba and a perfect complement for a complete delta adventure!

We are quite excited about a couple of things that are happening in Africa on September 1. First, Kenya becomes the latest African nation to move completely to an online visa process. Visas on arrival will no longer be available for purchase. Click here for further information or to apply for an e-visa. Our KAI partners in Kenya look forward to saying ‘Karibu’ to your travelers!
Down in South Africa on September 1, Savanna and Dulini Private Game Reserves will be more accessible! SA Airlink will now be flying daily to Ulusaba Airstrip which is less than 30 minutes from both lodges. Easy connections to and from Johannesburg and Cape Town are possible. For a full schedule contact your South African ground partner.
