UGANDA – More than just Gorillas (but they are pretty amazing)!

Prior to my first visit to Uganda (affectionately referred to as the Pearl of Africa) I had a few preconceptions, which I believe many others share: The main only reason to visit Uganda is to view the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The infrastructure, accommodations & service levels are not up to the standards of other African tourism destinations. Tourism is not a major focus and the people/culture are/is not as welcoming as other East African nations (Kenya, Tanzania).
