Discover tree climbing lions and local community life at ISHASHA WILDERNESS CAMP

Uganda is well known for being one of just 3 countries in the world where one can visit endangered Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat, but there is far more to be discovered in this "Pearl of Africa." It is home to the longest river in t he world, the Nile (4,184 miles) and Africa's largest lake, Lake Victoria (surface area of 68,800 sq km). In this friendly Banana Republic, which grows more bananas than any other nation except India and China, you will find 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Rwenzori Mountains National Park and the Tombs of Buganda Kings at Kasubi. Mt Stanley, in the Rwenzoris (often referred to as the "Mountains of the Moon") is the 3rd highest peak in Africa.

This is it! A rare opportunity to step into the world of an endangered mountain gorilla family awaits...

Which is exactly what you will experience during the Especial Season in East Africa. It's now that the rains clear the air and dry, dusty expanses burst into lush green plains teeming with birds and wildlife.
