An Adventure for the Senses at the New Palm River Hotel

The new Palm River Hotel is perfectly situated on the banks of the iconic Zambezi River in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The idyllic location is only 4 kilometres upstream from Africa’s Natural World Wonder, Victoria Falls, and enables guests to tune into their surroundings and let their senses run wild.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with the unique backdrop of the Zambezi National Park and the calming vista of the Zambezi River flowing gently past. Vast and unimpeded views of the river are complimented by indigenous flora that encompass a tranquil, peaceful, and private sanctuary. This beautiful landscape was very carefully preserved during the recent construction of the hotel. A further sight to behold is the hotel’s unique Australian-inspired architecture. Distinctive in its appearance, yet carefully planned to blend seamlessly within its natural surrounds. All 73 rooms offer an individual river-facing vista, that can be enjoyed from within a private patio.

Warm and balmy temperatures are common in Victoria Falls, and the hotel’s open, airy, and colonnaded guest spaces enable a refreshing breeze to flow gently up off the river and through the canopy of indigenous trees that shelter the hotel. Inside, rooms offer luxurious and comfortable king and twin beds finished with quality linens. Ideal for sumptuous slumber whatever time of day. Guests can also relax or take a dip in the cooling waters of one of three swimming pools overlooking the mighty Zambezi River.

Whether waking up to enjoy a breakfast buffet or settling down for an evening of fine dining under the starry African sky, the hotel’s range of dining options are perfectly suited for every desire. Fresh and local ingredients, catered to a range of dietary requirements, are included across the extensive menu. Kick-start the day with delicious smells and flavours of baked egg shakshuka, followed by house-made pasta for lunch, and finish off with local Nyanga trout fillet at the end of a tastebud-tingling day!

Bringing the wholesomeness of your senses together, the hotel is blessed with a symphony of natural sounds. The idyllic location within the National Park enables in an ever-flowing hustle and bustle of animal life and noises. Soul-rumbling chortles of hippopotamus echo up from the riverbanks, elephants trumpet in the nearby distance, and twittering birdlife awaken and set the wilderness to bed as their soulful sounds complete the cycle of another day in Victoria Falls.
